Just about anything but HOT WHEELS! From what I heard from a few guys, was Ed felt Mattel really screwed him when they reissued the Betnik Bandit, so he would refuse to sign them if people brought them to him at a show. I can't say I would blame him if that's true....
I bought my signed rat fink poster for $40. If only I would have bought that hand painted Von Dutch striping box for $3000 9 years ago before the whole Von Dutch craze started. I thought that price was a bit high. Who Knew a few years later the same box would be sold for six figures Im working on my time machine now, anybody want me to pick them up some vintage speed parts when I get it working??
So if your going to keep it does it matter what it may be worth to someone else Just love it when someone scores some auto or related item and the first place they Come for an appraisal is here It’s only true value is to you
i have some street rodder mags from the early 60's when he was adverting as the crazy painter. tfeverfred is right. you have an unreplaceable piece of history. why does it matter how much it's worth? i'd want it in my casket when i died....or given to someone who could respect it.
here is a autograph i got from Big Daddy back in 95. i don't know if it will show up you can see it on the bottom. maybe you can compare it to yours. this was at Larry Watsons show he had at his shop in Norco.
So this has turned into a autograph swapping post ?? Gee I dont know what if any of my stuff is worth But Socalmerc want to trade 2 Weesners a Roth and a PIZZ For your guitar ???
funny that someone with the name fang shows up on here...that was one of the other items i had him sign....dec of 65 hot rod with the yellow fang....
Although I aggree with the comments on how cool it is to own these great pieces of history!! I have a bunch of that stuff too; The thing is that we all need to know what they are worth in the event of theft or God forbid fire!!! The cool factor is great but you need to keep track of that **** for your homeowners policy!!! Eventually it does all come down to some money!!!
I have no cool roth stuff. That's why I offered my last 20 for it. It is a cool piece of history. I am just jealous I guess.
Hey I have an autographed metal sign by boyd and his queen? Think i can get like 10k for it ? Dave oh ya i also have a roth t shirt that signed
i had a car sign by him.....i couldn't get 2k for it... now , the chip foose autographed hemi valve cover...thats a different story the roth signed t shirt , i had to quit wearing it....figured the sharpie would start to disappear.....
We need to pool our ****.... advertise as the only remaining roth and boyd **** on the earth.. BY NOW BUY OFTEN ... Daveps: we could include a free shamwow and a shampon
I met Ed Roth at hot august nights , he had a booth in the swap meet he kindly gave me his autograph, its somewhere I don,t know where but its somewhere. I've also got John Waynes
When you die and your family is selling off your "prized" possesions...that's when you'll know if you got a good deal. here's mine,16x20 got it at a Goodguys Pleasanton show in '92. I got his and Norm Grabowskis at that show. The best thing was, there were so few people there I got to talk to him (Ed Roth) for quite a while.
1961, on my 11th birthday, Dad took me to Roth's shop to have this sweatshirt made for me. Roth asked me if I wanted my name on the front with SPIDERS !!!!
speaking of B.S.....you ever read the under side of a sobe cap...? got this one tonight..... he is everywhere.
Well since we a re showin our Roth stuff.heres one I got fron him in '91.....he and I were talkin about those kool metalflake german helmets he had in the 60s and I told him how bad I had wanted one as a kid but my dad would'nt allow any damn Nazi **** in the house...Roth said he had some at home some where in the attic and if he ever found one it was mine......then he grabbed one of Barris 8x10s and signed the back for me..........
I dont care what a Roth autograph is worth. I only have two autographed posters of his. They will go to my two boys when I start pushing up daisys!
I have had many many pieces of autographed Roth memorabilia.......that is my job - I buy collections of stuff from people.......I would say yes - that autograph is legit. As for the "worth" you scored at $20 or under I would put it out at my table for $50 then the guy would say - would you take $40 and I would say - NO or if I needed gas money that show I would say yes! if you put it on ebay I really doubt you will get over $50 for it It is funny to me how many people have his autograph - and yet no one wants to sell it! ha guess that is what makes it worth $$$$ I would say you scored..... and if anyone is in Minneapolis St Paul this weekend for the World of Wheels - come by and check out the Rat Fink booth - we have over 50 different shirts, stickers, models, toys, etc. All officially licensed from the Roth estate Later
also - Mazooma 1 - I sold an original airbrush shirt Big Daddy did back in late 90s for over $1K so I would say yours has got to be at least $2K what do others think? not that it matters cause it is going to stay put I would ***ume......but that is a REALLY great piece!
