Or maybe somebody should post some contact info for the family members and let him sort it out with them.

If it was me I'd want to be dealing directly with the family members not somebody that's gonna get it to the family.

It would be nice if the family got the stuff back if they want it but I don't think he's under any obligation to return it if he doesn't want to.

The family had most likely forgotten about the stuff or thought it was long gone. The fact that it has resurfaced doesn't mean they are en***led to the items.

Yes it would be the nice thing to do but it's up to him.

Are you serious man?!?! As mentioned above, he is under no obligation to return the stuff and if I were him I would rather return it to the family directly...no offense Bob.

Just a memory. I can ask my old boss if he still deals with Roth, get some info.

I agree, You're not obligated to return any of that stuff, and I think it's better to give it to them directly, if they even care.

Ya know, I looked around for an intro section and couldn't find it. Figured nobody cared anyway.

First off...there is NO obligation here! I merely suggested he give the stuff that his daughters sent to Ed,back to them. He called me,and said he was putting the stuff in the mail 10 days ago. If he changed his mind....so be it! The problem I have is,he hasn't contacted me to say,They're on their way,**** OFF!,I put them on E-bay,mind your own business,How bout those Lakers?....NOTHING! If he had NO intention of sending the stuff,he should have said so.
We're not talking about a business letter from Ed to Watson,or something like that. If I had found the stuff,I would have givin the items to Darryl without any concern to the value...

The stuff is his! What he decides to do with it is his deal. If he tells me he's sending it to me,then keeps it,that's also his deal....Integrity is something you earn from other peoples perception of you. Like respect...

It isn't any of my business. I just figured I'd add something to maybe get his attention... Maybe he's just lazy or doesn't know how to use the mail.

I personally can't imagine that any of that would be worth any money I would've tacked the business licsence to my wall and shipped the rest out to somebody that has a connection with it.

If I had that stuff it would be like going through Big Daddy Roth's underwear drawer. sure it's personal but it's got nothing to do with me and I'd feel weird there.

Non of the business licenses have Ed's name on them. They're worthless. The funeral announcements might be worth something. Also the newspaper articles too.

I offered to put him in touch directly with the family, but he said he talked with Bob and was sending everything to him. ???

Too bad if he tries to get rid of it. Oh well, his call I guess. Although it seems kinda tasteless to me to keep some cards written by the grandkids just to make a few bucks.

I agree he should let you know one way or another. I think it said somewhere in the thread that he's 18 so he's really just a kid.

I guess my point is it may not be that big of a deal to him. He may have every intention of mailing it and just got side tracked by school stuff, family stuff, girlfriend, whatever the hell kids do these days.

Hopefully he'll either send the stuff or at least let you know he's changed his mind.

I still think you should put him in contact with the family. If it's something with a lot of sentimental value that they really would like back, they may be willing to offer him something to lite a fire under him.

If he's giving it up for free it may be one of those I'll get to it when I get to it kind of things.

If he's gettting something for the stuff then it may make it more of a priority for him.

I met a guy a few years back named "King Dave" Anderson. he was visiting California from Oklahoma he was a name in hot rods in the late 50s early sixties. I got to hang out with him and his family and we talked about cars and friends and all the good stuff this lifestyle is about and he mentioned that he had gotten to see everyone except George Barris. So I went to see George after Dave left and got him to write a note to dave. it sat in my kitchen for a couple of months and I didn't find the time to send it. hung up on School, work, girlfriend and my own project I just let it sit. I found out after 3 months of it sitting there that Dave p***ed away..don't remember what my point was now. I guess it's that it's easy to get caught up in what's going on in your life.

Sounds like you've done all you can do. Hopefully it will all work out, maybe he's just out of town or been busy for a few days.
