It wouldn't surprise me if the reserve was twice this figure.

It belongs in a museum like Starbirds for everyone to see in person.

The guy who actually built this, Dave, is a very nice guy. Here is the post when the topic was first openly discussed on the HAMB. Well lots of folks had something to say, although it looks like Kustombuilder did but then had a change of heart. If I remember correctly he posted photos but then deleted them.

I guess that I feel bad since I ran into a buddy of mine from New Orleans tonight that moved there a handful of years back and he has nothing left.

Sounds good to me Trey...you buy it, and I'll gladly come over every day a look at it with you.

  6. I believe I read somewhere that the frame cracked because it was not heat treated correctly after chroming it: apperently chromed steal which is not heat treated will become poreuse (sp?) and will easely crack.

Some of the things I Love about the HAMB..............
does it run, can it run, why build something ya cant drive?????????
does it really matter? The Mysterion Vanished way back when and for years people would say how cool it would be to see the car again, and here it is and it isnt good enough. something i have noticed about the HAMB guys that have 237,825,721 posts have never finished or built a project guys with 723 posts have a huge car collection of stuff they built. Personally I dont care if it runs I think it looks cool. what ever some one wants to do is their buissness. and A quote From Ed Roth to Mark Morioraty "Ya never worked a day in yer life till ya build a car outta nothin'"
OK rip me a new Ass now!

yeah...it matters to me. Hell i dont even own it and i wanna just get in and drive it..i can imagine if i had built it.......but like i said just my opinion. People gave me shit because i rode my bike everywhere because people considered it a "show" bike..(not my panhead)

I think it runs in my family though...my father has an OCC bike that I think hes put more miles on than any other bike he has ever owned.

P.s. if i had the jing to buy the roswell rod (which is in my top 10 cars list, even considering all of Roths cars) I would drive it.

i also flew out to detroit just to see the both of em' :) well that and the pinstripers jamboree but mainly for my father and I to see those two cars.

  11. Good to hear from you on this subject Fritz. So where's Moriarty? Is he still on the HAMB?

The car is killer and if I had the coin, it would be right in the middle of the 'Mysterion Room' in my fuck off mansion (that I don't own... yet). :)

I did build the model though, and that was hard enough!

i can see the price. it IS beautiful and the craftsmanship is top notch.

    funny though..

I was talking to my girlfriend about this...she usually has a different take than me.

my girlfriend told me "its like marrying Pam Anderson [insert anyone here] and not being able to sleep with her or touch her. All you get to do is show her off to everyone so everyone can oogle over how hot your wife is, and you go home and jerk off every night"

she puts it kinda harsh. haha.

edited to make me not gay.

I could handle jerking off to Pam Anderson, or the Mysterion. As long as I could shoot my load on the Boobs and/or Bubble! Hell, I have to do it by myself with no inspriation anyway.

I like to think of my stuff as tamed down 60's show cars that you can drive. I like to abouse my shit.

If I had the Mysterion I would not drive it because I would be afraid to fuck it up.

I like Dave as well and am curious to see what he will build next.

Sometimes it is all about the check to see what you can do next, I can appreciate that.

A beautiful copy of a car an artist named Ed built. It doesn't run. 75 grand and counting. I wonder how much the real deal would sell for? NEATO.

Guys my age are creating things and starting to make real money. This is the art I want. We'll be powering the culture for the next 20 years, so hold on to yer shorts folks.

I'll lay odds the guy that buys it gets 'er running...
