Can anyone provide information on this 8BA 60 Eddie Edmunds equipped engine? What were these small engines with hopped up parts used for (type of racing), and what is something like this worth?

They were a staple of Midget racing until the 110 Offenhauser came in. They were also used in ski boats. Depending if it was built for racing, other than a pair of heads and intake, the value could be from $1500 to $3,000 if it runs well.

Interesting intake manifold. It looks like that is a late Mercury flathead carburetor. Edmunds also made full size flathead intake manifolds that used two of these 4-bolt carbs. I p***ed on one about 5 years ago because I thought $450 was too much. I've been kicking myself ever since.

Not to nit pick but an 8ba is the '49-'53 full size engine. 60hp is much smaller.

I really appreciate this info. It helps a bunch.. I'm new to Flatheads, so don't know much about them.
