This is a rad post with cool info on a nice car. Too bad people can't just chill out and let a post run for a while without feeling the need to muck it the first time it falls from page one. Comments alluding to this place sucking because the "good" posts don't get enough replies or "should have said TATTOOS in the subject line" are lame at best.

It's '05 and stuff moves faster. That's just what is. It might take a day or two for someone to come around and pop it back to the top. Christ, I'm a moderator and I'm not here every day. Just chill out and let this place be cool - it's really good at that most of the time.

Back to the car. I like it...a lot. I'd love to know some info and even see some detailed close-ups of the drive system. I wonder why it was done that way? Was it just to get a car with such tall wheels lower without intruding on the driver's compartment? Gearing? Probably both. I wonder how quick the gear could be changed if at all. It's really smart when you start looking at the cutaway. Really smart. A great idea for someone to use if they were looking to build something like a flathead powered hot rod you could sit IN with the lines resembling the old Mercedes racers. You listening Ryan?

Can someone tell us the story about the warehouse where these cars were stored for all those years? One of the magazines took pictures of the "secret stash". They made it sound like some eccentric had collected all these historic old hot rods with no intention of restoring them. Years later they seem to be returning to daylight. I always wondered about the guy that amassed the collection. I'm interested in his part of history too. I like his taste in cars.

The barn where that stuff was is gone as is the guy that put all it there. But
his spirit and dreams live on with his family and friends.
    That's the story.

If that too corny for you well too bad.

Sorry to upset you . It was not my intent to degrade the gentleman or his family. I don't even care about names. He preserved a great deal of our hot rod history and that is what interested me. I thought there might be more to the story. guess not.
