    Eddie-
Sorry, I just assumed you were using a JD2 type of bender. CLR stands for Center Line Radius, this is how companies like JD2 catergorize there dies. For example JD2 sells 1-5/8 tube dies in 5.5 CLR and 6.5 CLR.

Its 5 1/2" at the center. I figured you wanted the radius just wasn't sure where from.

For chopperman here are some shots of the mounting points for the cage. The ones from underneath are kinda hard to take pictures of. when the body comes off again I'll get some better shots. I am welding the nuts to the brackets to make it a little easier. The brackets have to stay attached to the body and then bolt through the frame since the body will not slide past them if they stay on the frame.

The brackets still need to be cleaned up. Just wanted to make sure it all works before I grind everything up. I took some material out with the plasma to lighten them up since they won't be seen.

I am going to either put some holes in the arm or do some pin stripping with the plasma.

The pedal configuration didn't give me quite enough leg room, so I cut em off and am fabbing my own. Still needs finishing.[IMG]

Worked on the radiator mounts today as well. All they need is some rubber in there and they are good.

The body had to go on and off several times to get all the body/cage mounts lined up and drilled, so while it was off I did some welding on alot of the tabs and what not that had not been done yet.[IMG]

Nice job. I really like how the rear of the frame follows the body. Can't wait to see the finished product.

I seldom comment on builds (don't know enough to know what to say) but this is just awesome. The work you do and the short amount of time it takes you to do it is amazing. Thanks for shariing.

Thanks, I am actually very proud of my work on the vette and that was one hell of a build. But not for this board..

  19. Looking good. Somehow I missed this till now. How about editing the photos on the last couple pages so I don't have to scroll back and forth?

    Eddie,

Cool build, I hope to see you tearing up the streets around Orangevale! I would love to take a closer look at your car.

STFU Where's your build thread? If you read the thread I give full credit where it is due, not only the frame but hte cowl steering. There is plenty about this car that although may not be origninal (since everything has been done before by someone somewhere), but things I have done without outside influence.

That frame is a work of art.

    Endorsement from the man himself.

"There ain't nothing new under the sun..." I don't know who said it
but there it is. There have been exact duplicates built of other rides,
what's wrong with being influenced (and using ideas from)
    Littleman's? Was the SECOND guy to put a late-model V-8 in a "T"
or "A" said to be ripping off the FIRST guy to do so? Maybe so, but if
it weren't for him, there wouldn't have been a third, fourth, and
etc., etc. untiul today, and we wouldn't be discussing this right now.
(Or building hot rods, for that matter.)

Nice job, I copied somebody elses idea of splitting the wishbone, and
a lot of other stuff. I'm not very original, either. But I AM having fun.:D

    "Everything has been done before..."

That's the gayest explanation ever. Littleman endorsed it because he's a BIG MAN.

There's a differance between being inspired, and completely ripping someone off.

    My car is an original.

Thanks Rich, some people just don't get it. I personally think that imulation is the most sincere form of complement.

I am not even going to try to explain it to a kid driving his daddy's car!!

Ever notice that ONLY the guys ripping people off, say that?

I've had a slammed coupe since back when you thought it was still cool to have 22's on your vette. I built mine... and not to impress the guys in the subdivision either.

Why does this post keep coming up? We already watched the buildup of DEATHS DOORSTEP. Who likes to watch a CHEAP BOOTLEG version? It's good for you though... you can go back through his step by step buildup and just try to copy what you see in the pictures.

You gonna put dubs on this one too?

Wow Jonny, thats pretty funny considering that this ENTIRE forum is all about building cars...in a way that they were built 40 or 50 years ago. The whole entire traditional hotrod scene is dedicated to DOING IT THE WAY IT WAS DONE BACK IN THE DAY.

Are you trying to tell us that yours was the first coupe to be chopped and lowered?? What power ya runnin? Let me guess, a hemi? or ohhh...real original, a nailhead or SBC?

My point is simply it really has all been done. Get off your high horse and if ya don't want to see this build, get out of the thread cause there is plenty of us watching this with interest.

Yeah, the frame is close to littlemans, it was a work of genious, a hell of a build. Other than that look at the 4 speed, sbc, the built in bucket seat floorboards, volvo steering, there is just as much original work as similar to THE littlemans.

Rock on 31, looking forward to more shots.

    Scot
