I have an edlebrock performer series intake and I was wanting to drill a hole for an oil fill tube so I can run script valve covers. Anybody done anything similar? If so. Got any pics?:D

  2. The filler you want has a bung on it to loop the PVC, eckler's sells them as a 71 Nova (I think ) item ... the manifold can be drilled and fitted at a machine shop ... alittle risky to do it yourself.

ive done it my self 3 or 4 times with a drill press and good hole saw. take your time, figure out your angles, block it up on drill press table. get a helper to hold it in place. mix up a little epoxy or jb weld, apply alittle to housing and drive it in. mine have always been leak free.

Thanks for the info. I think I'm gonna try it next time I head to my parents house. Poppa bear has a drill press.

My neighbor and buddy has a machine shop in his garage so he opened mine for me. Nice pressure fit so no leaking. I found a repro cap on ebay that works great. Those ****py chrome things always seem to come loose. Sure is convenient and looks cool too. Now I can probably loose the PCV valve.

  9. Mike nice engine. I dont think your going to want to lose the PVC without running a road draft tube.. its my understanding you have to have one or the other.

Thanks! At this point, I'll probably just plug the carb and breather and see how it does. The engine would be a bit cleaner without that stuff but, if need be, it can stay. Mike

  11. Running your pvc from the filler tube to carb is one way and then lose the valve cover setup ... cleans it right up.

You can relocate the PCV valve to another place but you should not eliminate it. There are a hell of a lot of posts on this subject on the HAMB with several different solutions. Do a PCV valve search and do some reading. You don't want that pretty engine to get all oiled up attracting dust and dirt.

I added one to a Weiand Team G with no boss. Hole sawed the hole, stuck an appropriately sized cardboard tube in the hole, built up a boss with 2-part epoxy putty, bead blasted it and painted it chevy orange. Looks like it was made that way. It's stashed in my parts storage, so no pics, but it worked well.
