I just recently bought an Edelbrock C-66R because it was too good of a deal to pass up. Has anyone run one of these? Are they considered high rise? I don't have it in my hands yet, but the pics look relatively the same height as the high rise bowtie intake I have on the bench at work. I'm thinking it will good with a pair of small AFBs on the warmed over 396 I'm putting together. Also, does anyone have any scans of old ads featuring this intake? I'm curious about when they were introduced. I'm planning to use it on a car that I want to look like 1966/67.

  2. I don’t know anything about these intakes, but I really dig old Chevy aftermarket intakes. Please post pictures when you can!!

not being able to see the intake, wouldn't the r be for rectangle port?

I read your link, it says similar to the post below yours, but also say the 25hp gain is over the Torker2. I had a Torker on my 454, but don’t recall if it was a Torker, or Torker2? But mine was (as I recall) single / open plenum and didn’t do much over the CI intake until around 3k. Also it was a single carb intake.
I gave it to a guy for his ski boat, and went with the performer, much better for the street with 3.08’s and a TH400.
Sorry to the OP for going off topic.

my 454 has the old torker where the carb sets at a angle, the torkerII sets straight. the r is for rectangle and o for oval. sorry for the hijack of your thread.
