Off topic of your question.....in relation to the pennies....
my Pops used to tell me they would put pennies in the heat risers
to make the exhaust "cackle" alot more.
Don't know if it's true....just remember my Dad tellin' me that.

Separating the exhaust system increases the staccato effect; duals are connected by that crossover.

Yes, the plugged heat risers will definetely make a difference.

Last Saturday went to view a fella's project '36 roadster with a somewhat mild flatty. Sounded much meaner than the built flatty I was driving though. He had plugged risers and I did not. And, maybe all the chrome on his engine helped too.

    What do the pennies prove?
That they were put there at some point after 1943.
That includes 1944.... or last week.

Saw your post on the old intake. That looks like my old intake that I bought 15 years ago at the Zephryhills swap meet here in Florida for $75. I remember the 41 and 43 pennies. I think I may of stamped either my initials or the last four digits of my SSN on it as well. I found a second NOS one and traded that one off to Charlie Price for a pair of refurbished 97 carbs for my roadster about 10 years back. Does it still have the "regular" near the generator mount? I researched it while I had it, and came to the conclusion that the "Edelbrock" was ground off and smoothed by someone who was going to polish it, but then gave up. I thought this because it looked like it had been bead blasted a few times as well.

Well that is my input if its my old one. The pennies tell the tale.

Here is a pic of the second NOS intake I found that replaced yours on my rod. As I remember they were identical except for the removed "Edelbrock". I don't have a digital pic of yours from when I had it, only a photo, I didn't have a digital camera back then.

Also when I had your intake the studs were still the originals, not those new looking ones.

Another explanation for the removed "Edelbrock" is that maybe the intake was sold out the back door of the foundry as a no-name intake by the casting business.

I wonder how it made its way to Ohio. I'm originally from Youngstown, Ohio.

I bought this Edelbrock Regular intake from here Finland.
Good price and looks good condition. Just bebuilding 8BA (´51) engine.
That engine will get Winfield SU1 cam and this intake with 59a style breather.

    Hey,
Thank You Sir. (KD-540 lights are on my working table, 100% nice!).

I have seen pictures those "thin runner" Edelbrock Regular intakes. Is this model more rare?
What Year they made this outlook regular? Looks like PM 7, but not exactly same (I have original PM7 too).

Aloha, I've had an Edelbrock Regular for a little while, thinking I might use it for a flathead build that never materialized. Now I'm thinking I should sell it or trade it, but I don't really know what they're worth. Any ideas?

Just curious. Was it ever confirmed if there was only 100 slingshots produced?

On the two regulars in the pictures I see a lot of differences. Is one original and one a repop?
