Anyone had this problem,,, I have a cheby 350 engine with a 600CFM Edlebrock carb and an electric choke. It has been running fine for about 2 months, and yesterday the negative cable on the choke came loose, and closed the choke. After finally figuring out that was the problem, I re-attached the wire and ***umed that it was fixed. This morning we left for work, and it did it again.. Luckily I was able to stuff something into the choke and keep it open and drive the car home. The carb was new when I put it on, anyone else running one of these? Or know of a way to check and see if the electric choke got messed up when the wire came loose??
So far, mine has worked exactly as designed..... after installation, I tried to adjust the idle, but there was no position better than where it had been set by the factory. Excuse me, I have to go knock on wood now......
Yeah, other than that choke thing... The carb has been great and I too haven't had to mess with any other settings!!!
The negative wire com**** loose shouldn't hurt your chock any at all. All it does is when you put power to it it heats a little spring thingy and causes the choke to open. I'm running a 750 on the Galaxie and never have a problem with it. Mines the converted Weber carb, but all the electric chokes operate on the same principal.
Thanks C9 I went through that and will mess with it a bit tonight when I get home. It almost seems like the electric choke just broke,,, and keeps it closed shut. If I can't get anything to work tonight, I will see what kind of warranty I can get and or zip tie the whole thing open
