Edmunds Air Cleaners?

Ok I have a question about the repop Edmunds air cleaners. There seems to be 3 different types actually 2 of them being almost the same. I totally dig the oval ones as most probably do. But did the round ones exist back in the day? I found one website which seems to imply that they did. It crossed my mind that my throttle linkage might not clear the oval type...as it makes a turn upward....I have not checked for sure yet. 100 plus bucks for the oval cleaner is pretty expensive for me though...its gonna take a bit of thinking. Any thoughts on this?

I like the looks of both styles. 59buick wagon here on the HAMB (DENNIS OBRIEN) sells both types.
