I have this issue, I needed a new rear window frame for my 48 Plymouth coupe. Goldenmountain here on the HAMB offered me a rear window frame from a 39 Ford, he thought it was from a coupe. I have the window frame installed, along with the new glass and the new weatherstripping. Both were bought on Ebay to fit a 39 Ford, and both fit the window frame I have fine. From the info I've seen, I was under the impression all 39 split rear windows were the same. So I saw a rear window garnish molding listed for a 38 & 39 Standard Ford, it looked good in the only picture posted, so I bought it, it arrived today. I removed it from the package, and put it against my windows and frame, and it is not correct. This new to me part is too tall, and too narrow. I need to know if Ford had more then one split rear window frame for the 39 Fords so I will know if I screwed up, or if it was mislabeled. I need to get the correct molding because the weight of the glass appears to me to be too heavy for the rubber to hold very long without it. Please, educate me! Gene
Gene: I told you it was '37 Ford. Someone painted that on it above the window. Sent from my SM-T350 using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
There was enough metal there to show it was a two door. Sent from my SM-T350 using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Somewhere along the way, your 37 window frame got turned into a 39 window frame, I guess I was pretty lucky the glass and weatherstripping fit. I guess the 39 garnish molding not fitting my 37 window frame is my fault then. Maybe I can find a 37 Ford split rear window garnish molding and can get my money back out of this one. its really nice. Thank you all. Gene
