So, basically, anyone that expects decent service in an acceptable amount of time for the money they spent is a "sock knitter", huh? Well, I guess that makes me a fairy. I'll go put on a dress now.

  2. well I don't want to swim up stream. I've read all the Marty posts, I believe everyone of them.
I stop by Marty's from time to time. He is the hardest working guy I know. I've watched his growth and he is going to be around and be a major force in the industry.
it's a shame that he has so many teething problems. he has overloaded himself continually.
He has so many irons in the fire that it's amazing that he gets anything done and I can see why he's 6 months behind on everything.
when he get's his own foundry up and going he'll most likely have better control of Quality and timely shipments. I can guarantee that the problems he's had were not because he didn't care. he's trying to juggle 10 balls and drops three or four at a time.
that said, I don't think things will be much different for the next couple years.

I agree, I have purchased quite a few things for my project from EELCO with great success. When something wasn't in stock; I was told and notified when it was. I do think there are a few people on this board who jump on the pile just because they like the drama. I will continue to do business with them and my friends will also.

If you take a look around some of the other sites Like the Nailhead group on Yahoo or any of the other Buick sites for that matter you will see that he's burned many bridges there too......

  5. He screwed me out of several hunderd dollars so I'll be glad to share my "drama" with anyone who is thinking about doing business with the SOB!

You guys will get yours someday also. And so will he!

Apparently it is fashionable to bad-mouth Marty, but he did me right on an eBay purchase. I did a "buy it now" on a cad-lasalle trans and hemi converter. He personally it got to the shipper the next day. He answered all my emails to him on a prompt basis...a stand-up HAMB-solid transaction all the way.

    Somethings might appear obvious,
but only when you know the answer.

Most people wouldn't connect the current EELCO,and NW Speed,
as being one in the same.

But I'm sure the word will get out.

Doh, I just spent $100 on carb kits and fuel block with them an hour ago. I had no idea they were the infamous Northwest Speed. Oh well, at least I know how to seek redress through paypal...

At the risk of being a namby pamby fashionably dramatic sock knitter, I find it interesting how diverse the opinions are. I wasn't slamming anyone whatsoever, nor will I defend what I posted previously. Obviously there is a problem somewhere, whatever it is. I know lots of cats on this board have a job, run another business to boot, build cars, and do tons of stuff, but STILL take care of THEIR commitments and customers. Just know that Marty has people watching these posts, and reporting back to him about it. A friend of mine got a call the other day asking why we are so hard on the poor hard working fellow, the number was restricted, and the caller refused to identify himself. Hopefully the glitches get fixed someday, and the wrongs get righted. Until then, sign me 'optimistically cautious" :)

Oooh..."Marty has people watching these posts, and reporting back to him about it."...who cares!

The bottom line is that his business practices suck and sooner or later everyone will figure that out!
I know that as fact from my lousy personal experiences with him several times (shame on me), but I tried to cut him some slack. Never, ever again!

Haven't dealt with him personally, so I won't badmouth him in particular. BUT I will say that if you are in a business that sells retail ANYthing, you have to realize that your customer is the most important part of your business. I don't care how many balls you have in the air, it's the one that gets dropped that will cost you the most if you are trying to get business to grow. Make the customers happy, they are your only hope...

its sad that the few minutes i have on the internet for who knows how long has to be wasted telling people some truth. the man that owns eelco now has done nothing but screw people over. telling people he'll build them something or make parts then filing bankruptcy or bailing out of the deal and pocketing the money. sure the parts on their page and in the catalog are awsome... but if you want the parts... id be weary..
