Event Coverage El Mirage June 13 Y-Block guys come on out!

<TABLE cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=0 width="100%"><TBODY><TR><TD cl***=smalltxt vAlign=top>I think Charlie and I have got all the bugs worked out of our lives, for the time being anyway, so we will be running the "Yellow Brick" this weekend on the lake bed. We would love to see all the Y-Block Ford fans out here so come by and say "HI!" A few new mods to the original engine will hopefully set a new record in our cl*** (E/PP). Looking for better than 120, would love to see 125. I wish we could have that nice cool weather they had in May but who knows everything might just click. Wish us luck and say a prayer for a good "safe" run.

Looks like May is the only El Mirage event that causes any interest. I'll be there with "Screwball" the sidecar 7919. If I see you I'll say hello. I usually camp down behind tech. I'm trying for 120 or better as well. Good Luck. Hope to see you there.

 

Yeah, we wanted to be there in May too but a death in the family and a wreck on Charlie's bike made us cancel. Well maybe the course will be better this month. See ya in the line.

 

Judging by the underwhelming response to this thread it looks like it won't be crowded at the lakebed. Sorry you missed May but it looks like you had your hands full.

I will be there on Sunday. I got my new seat in the F100 and am trying to get the T5 in her so that I can drive it out. Keep and eye out for the gumby truck !

 

The "underwhelming" response on this thread may be due to the fact that there is already another thread about who is attending the June meet. Do a search on "El Mirage" and you'll find it. Funny how that works.

Plus, by looking at the ***le, this thread seems to be aimed at "Y Block guys".

Not just oil, but CASTOR BEAN OIL, this time!

 

Greatest stuff in the world!!!! I've been using Castrol R40 for more than 30 years. Bit hard to get nowadays. So I'm using Oilzall. You'll see the lights this time and hopefully at record speed!

Wow would love to see those. Spent some time on the lake beds myself, not racers: flight test. Transplanted to GA. Love those y-blocks. Still have one in my 55 Town sedan. Best of luck folks and stay safe. I'll keep an eye open for photos and youtube.

My first time to El Mirage. Saw your truck parked in tech but no body was around. Saw your run at the end of the first session. Man that truck sounds good! I had to get back home yesterday so I left after that. I'll be back though. LSR is pretty cool.

 

Saw your 1st run, looked clean. Will have to come by and say HI, I'm with the brew 102 car.

 

I did see some "Brew 102" t-shirts walking around. We'll be there next month.
