This was my favorite car I saw today. I spoke to the owner and he told me that he bought it as an unfinished project. He is from northern California and had Keith Tardel finish it. It runs a blown flathead on gas.
That is the best photo example I've ever seen of the 28-29 vs 30-31 cowl advantage. I've never understood why the SCTA thinks the 28-29 firewall ends at the door post.
The weather was pretty nice. It wasn't too windy or hot. Unfortunately the program was stopped for quite a while because a motorcycle rider had to be airlifted to the hospital. I hope he will be ok.
It's not that they think it ends at the door post. That is a Modified Roadster. The rules state that you can do "Streamlining ahead of and including the cowl"... so, you could cut the cowl back like this one on a 30-31. Take a look at the pictures of the '28-9 street roadsters. The cowls are intact and un-modified. I would say that the '28-9 bodies have a little advantage because they are narrower in areas. Sam
Great photos Chuck, Would you have any more of the green FWD roadster? Preferably with the body panels removed. cheers
Sorry, that is the only picture I have. I'm pretty sure I have seen it before. If I remember correctly, it had a 4 cyl Toyota.
