1. Awe Man! I've been checking out your trucks build here on the hamb and would love to see it go down the track. Especially on its first time out there.
Haven't been out at EM in over a year.I'm gonna try to make out there.

I've checked the SCTA site for the race time schedule and didn't see anything. What time do the cars start racing.

as of 5:12 PST it's still not been cancelled.
Weird weather, but it seems to mainly be on the western side of the mountain range....
weather reports for El Mirage still show a chance of rain overnight...

14. I just got back from inspections.. it's lightly sprinkling every now an again! Really nice at 84 degrees up there, I might add! Strong West Headwinds, when we got there.. blowing south when we were leaving. Some clouds above w/ black skies southwest.

I'm now nearby in Hesperia and it doesn't or haven't rain here. Before dark it looked very bad that direction. I don't if it rained there. Forecast says possible t-storms and clearing after midnight.

20. Well im kind of in the stone age about downloading pics but I will try tomorrow.I didnt take that many though.:(

21. We had a great time! The weather was nice, had a great light show Sat. night. We slept out under the stars in the back of the pickup and had a beautiful sunrise.

Our first run at El Mirage was a good one but the rpm showed that I should have been doing 133 and the timing slip showed 124. There is definitly some traction loss on the loose dirt. I'm gonna add some weight to the rear for the next meet, 200 lbs to start with I think.

22. Thanks for the video Tim!

23. One other thing I would like to mention, as much as I like to drive "The Brick" just notice how straight and stable "Jake" is going down the coarse. Kudos to Todd for his suspension work!!! ;)

We couldnt have asked for better weather. The gods of speed were looking down on us, there were thunder showers and lightning all around us but we stayed dry and clear. As far as speed they weren't so kind but we had an AWSOME weekend!! See you guys in October!

thanks for taking me along for the ride. you are right about the suspension work i was rather surprised how well she tracked being a old truck and all.. im assuming that is jake in your avatar.. some weight would help in a truck i think.. sleeping under the stars.. i love it and best thing about the desert always see lots of shooting stars.. i was surprised when i moved here from Oregon.. never seen as many shooting stars as I do now.. rock on.

Okay, the LeFevers gang had a pretty good weekend at El Mirage dry lake considering it didn’t look like the race was going to happen. We had loaded the car and headed up Sat. morning to find threatening weather all thru the high desert area. Early afternoon saw sprinkles on & off, changing winds, with thunder & lightning all around. Sunday race day was very nice with a hint of a breeze and temps in the upper 80’s.
Kevin made the first run at 212 mph missing our own record by <1 mph. Then we put Ryan in the car to see if there was anything left but no, the course was used up by the second round so he “peddled” it and tip toed through to a 149 mph pass. Next month we’ll let him lead off and work the rest of the year getting Ryan into the “dirty 2” club.
On a bit of a side note, it looks like we got top time of the meet! Waiting for the official SCTA posting to confirm this.

29. Tim ..... killer video and I was there to watch your runs.I dig the truck and when I heard you in staging it sounded as good as it looked. Thanks for sharing the video!!

30. We did real well, considering the soft track. 194mph - I felt like "Wild Willie" Borsch in his Fuel Altered - the car was pointing this way and that and I had to pedal it just to keep going . . .
It's just sooo much fun to spend time on the Dry Lake - the weather, the racing fraternity (family?) and just getting away from it all for a day or two . . .
