Lookin good, good to see the old coupe being saved :D

  4. The left door came in from Carter here on the HAMB, thanks again Carter. Used the new left door and with the help of Desertdroog all day today we got the "B" pillar on the left side welded in and starting setting up the left door and cowl on the left side. Alot more trimming will need to take place put if all goes tomorrow we should have the left side welded in. I am using the door as part of jigging process to help square everything. You can see the template from Elpalcko's 3 window to help show where the chop will begin. More updates at the end of the 3 day weekend.

Keep the pictures coming you will make me want to build a 3 window after I get my roadster done. Its taking shape Danny.

  6. A small update with the cowl some what in place it became clear that I needed to get some floors into the car to help with making sure the cowl is in the right place. Also having the floors in place I can also finish the fire wall and then move onto the doors and the rest of the conversion to a 3 window. I made the floors after asking some of you what you thought of the patch panels that are out on the market and thanks too Elpalcko the use of his shop to make the panels. Updates will come after LA roadster show.

I thought desert cars were rust free.
Thanks for the pics and inspiration.

  18. Anxiously waiting for update. Whats goin on Ron, you must have done more by now.

  19. So its been awhile since I have done a update due to some problems that I ran into. After getting the cowl in place and started too weld in the floors things just did not seem to be going as smoothly as I thought they should be so I stoped. After doing some measuring on another 36 car that was real straight and once compared to what I was trying todo, I found that the original cowl pieces that were attached too the floor were bent all the way down into the floors. So now, I am thinking great how the hell I am going too fix this. About that same time a local guy here that builds 36 cars had a really nice cowl section and after talking too him I was able too get a perfect rust free cowl all the way too the floors. After getting that cowl and having it sand blasted it was time to cut out all that I had done and start all over. So here is where we are at now with a perfect cowl and all in and connected too the floors and most of the floors made again and all welded in along with the fire wall. Next on the list is too finish all the welding on the floors and get ready to put the windshield section back in, then mount the 2 door sedan door and being again on the "B" pillar and make sure that is correct and move on too the roof all on the driver side. As they say 3 steps forward and 10 steps back. More updates soon.

  20. Good to see you are getting back to work on it.

Fuck man... that's a lot of work to have to "undo!" At least you caught it when you did and had enough sense to stop. Keep on truckin' Ron, one day when you're driving this thing, it's all going to be SO WORTH it!

Oh yeah, saw the coupe Friday night at Brandy & Christian's new spot, but somehow missed ya...

Damn Ron, you get the gold medal for determination in the face of overwhelming adversity. Hopefully with a correct cowl it should start to get a little easier. Way to go.

  28. Another up date all be it a small one. Got most of floor and firewall all welded up and solid as a rock and started on the chop of the windshield at front of roof section. After that is done and solid then back on to the left door and "B" pillar. More updates soon.
