Really into your build and the way your dealing with a lot of unknowns. Bottom line is your build is over the top and one hell of a job. Thanks for all the details, pictures and up dates

  8. I love watching your thread as well.

Let me know when you are coming and will show you good time again.

There is not much going on right now due to summer time here in phoenix. Yesterday it was 118 so probably around sept or end of august I will be back on the car. In the meantime I have been collecting more parts and pieces. The updates will stat again at that time. Thanks for all the comments and hope it helps someone else who want to build one. Any questions feel free to ask and I will try to help.

  9. I have been following you chevy build. A ton of work there and nicely done so far.

Hey Ron i see what the V.D.K. is talking about if you look at the pics the back window looks to tall compared to the side windows and also the back part of the door should be fatter than the front part of the door...at least thats what i see..i think you are doing a great job and like ElP said i would have cut the roof off.well thats at least what im going to do with my real ruff one..Hopefully soon i will start my 3 window buidl so i can post it..

  11. Thanks...just biting off more than I should chew! Remodeling house, raising my kid etc. I am looking forward to Winter so I can get some hotrodding done!

  12. Please show us how you fabricated your 3 window...I do not want to ruin my 5 window! :)

  13. I will bite on the Devil's advocacy...I can see where some fine tuning at this point will make or break the final finished product. Please understand, I am not wanting criticize your progress as it is looking good. I can see some things if addressed now will save a great deal of frustration in the future. I would stretch the top from the back of door jam a couple of inches, rake the body reveal behind the door, and work the top of the door where the 2 pieces meet. As for the back window, you can always drop it if it does not flow. I know advice, if not asked for, is typically insulting and would be worth more if it was not offered...just my 2 cents! Keep up the hard work!

  14. No intended offense, but Gene Winfield completely mutilated a 36 3 window coupe.

  15. Nice work Ron,
Man I wish I could do half of what you can do.
How are you feeling about the body lines at the back of the door and B pillar?
Are you planning on making it look a bit more original?

Keep up the good work and keep us updated!

    Cheers Tom

Amazing work. Very cool project. Can't wait to see the profile and stance.

  17. I not sure about that one yet. I keep going back and fourth on what I want to do. I kind of like that second line that curves up and disappears in the door. Leaving it will give the secret away about how I did the door but it may also give it some character that no other 3 window has. As for your line drawing its kind of hard to see but that line does fade into the lower part of the roof and belt line the same as a stock 3 window. Its just more pronounced since I have moved the roof forward more that a stock 3 window. The summer is almost over so hopefully in about 3-5 weeks it will back below a 100 degrees in the shop so I can begin work again.

  18. I kinda like that reveal too. It does give the back of the door a lot of character!

I lost track of this build, I love the way it's coming together.
I had the same doubt about that curved line when I built Bugs car, but I couldn't figure out a way to make it work with the rest of the bodylines. If you get a way keep it, it will defenitly add a special feel to the car.

  20. Chrisp your build for bugs is one of the main threads responsible for this build. I learned so much from your build of that car. I wish we could have meet in person before you left the country. I did get too speak to bugs when the car was at Grand National show and he had nothing but high praise for your build.

How about a close-up pic of that reveal, let us see what you're up against.

Wow Dude... That's one hell of a job!

  24. This is great work. Im only just starting to learn welding at age 45, so all i can say is, thanks. These type of build threads shows whats possible, and how nearly anything can be saved.
I look forward to seeing it finished.

  25. Nice work Ron and lots of it. I know you will pull it off. Like anything time and patience and dedication always pay off no matter what.
Although I do lile El"s idea on turning it into a roadster....maybe with a carson top? Just kidding buddy ...looks great. TBJ

I'm sure Ron will chime in and let you guys know what's going on, but I talked to him last night at Elpollacko's party, and he was telling me that he feels he needs to concentrate on his deuce and finish it up. Makes perfect sense, 'cause having multiple projects is a tough row to hoe sometimes...

  27. If it sells for what I want then great. If not I will finish it someday. I really want to get my coupe done completely with paint and interior. Will see what happens and go from there. I have been working on it some but after this coming thanksgiving weekend is done I am going to full build status on it and the coupe at that same time and try to get something finished as a complete build. I have all you guys to thank for posting your builds of cars that are now finished and its been a long time since I have had a finished car. Check back in a few weeks if the car does not sell and I will have some more updates.
