Well I'm sitting around waiting for the x.-c8 intake to arrive...having great memories of my 1962 Chevy II..which had a 427 built by D & J. Racing back in 70-71? Or maybe later...it was built as one of the drag car engines that **** n his boys run..that ended up in my neighbor ****'s mother in law's 62 Chevy II..which was cherry....he spent alot of time n cash setting the car up with a straight axel mono leaf spring setup on front n rear ....car had been weighed to figure the tension? The axel needed for optimum transfer...long story short..divorce ended forward progress...and i bought it minus the big olds center section..and a few intakes that had been tried on the motor ...shifter ect..has complete roller..Keystone cl***ics on 4 corners.... the rear wheel wells had been cut and flared above the body line by the gas cap...full interior..full bumpers ect..i replaced everything except the intake..a friend was going to lend me one he had taken off a stock motor... Well after 6 months i was ready to throw a big dozer battery i had in the trunk....funny part was i never had looked in trunk yet..i knew it was solid from rolling around replacing the rear center section...so i stick the key in..pop the trunk..i find a tarp..pull it out and there it was....a Edelbrock XC 96...WITH EXPERIMENTAL cast under the xc 96...i fell in love with it...wasn't no one going to talk me out of trying it....so i went to Swallens..they had a great speed shop back then...showed the guy behind the counter the build sheet for motor..told him about the intake..he recommended a pair of 780? I think? 7 something dual line dual pumppers...called **** up..he came over told me this intake never made it onto the motor..but was thought to be a good choice fur what was available back then..hell i knew very lil about hotrods back then..we hooked it up..**** tuned and played with jets ect...after a couple of days it was blessed by him to roll it out in try it...now i had seen the car launch years before with **** at the wheel..he was complaining that it needed more fuel..hell i thought it was a monster..but today it was mine..n **** said not to feather it..that the intake was made for pedal down!ended up hammering it..and feeling my first wheelie..scared **** out of ME.. Ya i know it's a NOT THE BEST BY FAR INTAKE...but i did build my fiat for a quick change between my dodge hemi and a mean sbc...and i still have my blown vega 400 sbc headless/intakeless motor....just can't get past the eye appeal..
