Finished installation of my new aluminum radiator on my 40 Olds cp. one of the last parts to bolt back on was the electric fan. After a quick check over, everything looked good with no visible leaks. So I took the coupe out for a test drive. The outside temperature was in the 40’s, and by the time I got back to my shop the car was overheating. I raised the hood, and first thing I noticed was the fan was not turning. I checked my fuses, they were good. So I pulled the wire fro the sending unit, and connected the two terminals together. I could hear the relay clicking, and the fan was wanting to turn, but would not. I then tuned the blade by hand, and it moved freely. Then it came to me, maybe the 4 fan housing bolts that secure the fan housing to the fan shroud were too tight. I loosened the bolts, and the fan started working. I guess when I tightened the bolts it put the motor in somewhat of a bind just enough to not let it turn. Thought I should share, just encase this happens to someone else.
