I have mine run through a switch that is always hot. If I run errands I like to leave the fan run while the motor is off. It might only be in my head but it gives the motor a little bit more help cooling down as opposed to when I don't leave the fan on. I know that the water pump isnt turning therefore I'm only cooling the radiator but when I start up after a 5 min shutoff, the motor seems to handle the heat soak alot better. Again, probably in my head.

  2. Dickster---my fan never comes on when I am going down the highway---there is enough "ram air" effect at even 30 MPH to keep the radiator and engine below 190 degrees.---I'm talking summer weather here---75 to 90 degrees F. My fan only comes on when I am stopped idling in traffic for more than 10 minutes. My rpu has open hood sides, so I definately don't want the fan running when I am not "in the car".

I used this controller on the '23 and it works great. Uses the existing gauge sender, and you can adjust the temp you want the fan to kick on. It has an over-ride for a switch too.

    That's a neat idea.

I run an adjustable temp sensor and a relay (From Parr Automotive) in my truck. Good luck.
