A lift is not in my future, so lately I have been looking at “electric” jacks. After two major back surgeries, bending over to jack up my car is a pain. The jacks I’ve been looking at don’t appear very sturdy or safe. I’d like to spend less than $200 and have a 5 ton capacity. Cordless with a remote would be a plus.
    Any ideas?

Dont think there is jack / other in that $ range ,safe well built ,
    How about a Air bag
    ( like off commercial truck)
They come in different sizes round & multiple lengths,
I have one about 12 inch across & can inflate almost 24 tall,
With little fabrication you could make telescopic supports on four corners for stability as inflates , I use a control valve
With knob to inflate slow ,
Or bottle jack on rear wheels air****istant, or could be added a motor , but will be again over your $ range

There are some air bag jacks available that may work for you. They're lighter weight than a hydraulic and don't have to be pumped up with a handle. There are several brands and styles that are under two hundred dollars. May want to check them out.

I`ve got one that plugs into a cigarette lighter. It`s a heavy duty Jack as well.

$200 does not even cover a quality 5 ton jack, that's before you get fancy with electric stuff.

I've something wireless / electric will still have you below the car positioning it and placing jackstands.

What's cheaper, a hoist or another back surgery? I'm younger, but slipped a disc this winter moving an engine, so now I think a lot harder about things like this. Just my chiropractor bill would have covered a decent quality car hoist.

No matter what kind of jack you use, you're going to have to get down on your knees, bend over to position the jack under the car. You still need to place jack stands under the car and the whole time you're working on you knees, short stool or on your back.
I see on craig's list, lift dealers that sell 4 post lifts and they advertise payment plans, I think this would be my first option with a bad back.

I have a 12V scissors jack. It's slow and although it was a gift, I don't think it was cheap. I'm not sure what you've described actually exists... at least, not in your price range.

What kind of work are you doing when it's jacked up?
    Maybe some drive on ramps.

Get on to/Google ''AliExpress'' and type in 'electric car jack' they list a lot of electric car jacks, and the specs/prices look good..

Might have to look into an air bag jack. The link to the air bag jack shows a 5 ton electric jack next to it for $149…
