Now that I have the new side gl*** in my hands, I see the donated 99 corvette cable driven regulators may not work. The vertical "channels/rails" are curved to match the Vette curved gl***. The probably won't work with flat gl***....

Anyone done electric window conversion kits? What's good, bad and ugly?

  2. I had a set of curved cable type regulators from a Honda, that I used in a Studebaker truck. I carefully straightened them out and they worked well. I haven't laid eyes on the Corvette regulator, so I don't know if they would straighten as easily.

    How'd you straighten them?

  4. IIRC, I cantilevered them over the edge of the bench and very carefully pressed down a little at a time, moving back and forth until they were fairly straight. They only had to be perfect at the top and bottom of their travel, as there was some flex in them that allowed them to follow the window. As I said earlier, the Corvette part may be a totally different situation.
