I picked up this haywire kit the other day and there's a few pieces that I can't id, or I didn't see them in the instructions. IMG_20231011_052348721.jpg IMG_20231011_052708090.jpg

Two on the left look like fusable links. Next is a diode. The three on the right look like empty connectors.
Not sure about the next pic.

the 2 leads might be fusible links, a diode for the alternator and the red lead IIRC is for the alternator sensor circuit???

I think the above info is probably correct. But why guess. I would just give Haywire a call.

plastic connector housings....in the first pic, the white and brown ones look like they fit the HEI ignition to give it power, the black one looks like it fits the old external regulator style GM alternator. The second picture fits the later internal regulator (10SI) GM alternator.

The diode is a diode...might be provided to help you get an 10SI alternator working properly, so the R terminal gets power when you turn on the key, but doesn't keep the engine running when you turn off the key.

With those plastic connector housings, you need the matching Packard 56 terminal to fit inside it.

I know, but it helps give me an idea about what I'm talking about before I talk to anyone.

jfyi............., it was not mentioned above, but I'm pretty sure diodes provide a one-way path for electricity, so which way it is installed is critical.

What Squirrel said, the HEI connectors are power and tach. Forget which is which at the moment but they only fit one way.

The diode always flows in direction of the stripe around it [blue arrow]
On an alternator this flows towards the Alt so it doesn't back-feed when the ignition is switched off

The white plug with the guide [red arrow] goes to the Ignition on the cap
And the brown plug is for Tach signal
