I was cruising down the highway and all the sudden my radio started popping and my p***enger side door popper went off...while driving! Now I feel like I have lost some horsepower. Oil pressure, engine temp, startup all seems fine. Just not the juice I'm used to especially in 2nd and 3rd. At the same time my speedometer took a dump on me but I think that's unrelated...but just in case it spins all the way around and makes a terrible noise. Rebuilt 327. Thanks for any suggestions.

Really need more info...... New or old wiring, battery location, as Squirrel said ignition, type of car, and did you blow any fuses?

Could be poor grounding due to corrosion on battery cable. Look inside cable insulation. Can be either battery cable.

  6. Have A look to see if your popper and radio Are on the sAme circuit. The only way a solenoid (popper) can ActivAte is if it gets A shot of 12 volts. If your radio and door poppers Are on the same circuit, check for a loose wire or bad door switch which may hAve intermittently given the popper 12volts.
As for the motor, is disconnect the 12 volt feed to the distributor, and hot-wire the ignition.
Go for a drive And see what happens. If it is better, you hAve a problem "upstreAm" from your distributor. If it is the same, you hAve a problem with your distributor/coil, etc.
More info is needed (electronic distributor, ?)

Electronics and electrics are two different things.

This may or may not be relevant.
