To those who cannot be with us today, who fell defending that which we enjoy, and who will always have a grateful nation remembering - we salute you.

    In Flanders Fields
By: Lieutenant Colonel John McCrae, MD (1872-1918)
    Canadian Army

IN FLANDERS FIELDS the poppies blow
Between the crosses row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
    In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
    In Flanders fields.

God Bless all the Vets and especially those who have fallen, it's so sad that so many in our country show so little appreciation for the freedom they enjoy, and the tremendous sacrifices it took to get them. God Bless America!

I'm leaving for Belgium tonight. I'll be in Flanders in the morning and will have you all in my thoughts. They are still digging up munitions in Flanders fields.

My grandfather was in the war AFTER the one that was going to end them all.

Saddest day of my adult life was the day I took my uniform off for the last time.

I am eternally grateful to all who serve and who have served. The sacrifices made by veterans go far beyond the blood lost on the battlefield. Those who have never served, couldn't even begin to understand.
