Hello. I'm going to build a 60's 283 for my 55 2dr. I am curious about a solid lifter cam that is sold by elgin. It is: e 1187-p, specs are: 258in - 270ex- 219and229 at .050, 456-479 lift, 110-114. Also, 1atc, 40 abc, 53 bbc, 4 btc, 37 overlap, set at .22 each. This is also an old clevite brand cam. How would this work in a 3 sp stick o/d, 370 rear end 1955 chevy 210 2dr sedan? I've been unable to get the rpm range of this cam. Also, I have the stock power pac heads and a set of 305 601 heads with 184 int. I would consider getting new heads . Any ideas, especially about the cam. Surely someone at jalopyjournal has used this cam. Thanks
