I have been keeping my eye on your post, and have been looking for your car. If it comes to Jersey we'll beat the crap out of him and put him in a hole.

 

Not sure how you do this, but shouldn't it be reported to Interpol as a stolen vehicle. My guess is that it will go overseas to be sold.

 

Its soo hard to tell ya know, I mean looking at the variables.. Was it some dumb ass just going for a cruise? Well maybe, maybe not, kinda think it would have been possibly found by now if it was. Was it an organized crime deal that was planned and all? Hell, there are soo many questions that probably run through your mind with something like this...

This has to be one of the shittiest feelings you can go through.. Hell, I cant convice my dad to fix up what we have as a team project and to have one of ours stolen would make me sick, I couldnt imagine what Marco is going through! His was done up all nice and ready for cruisin...

If someone would turn it up, there is a free built blower for them too!

Everyone should just keep eyes out now too at all the swap meets... look for anything recognizable... Sucky thing is that there are LOTs of parts out there for 32's ... But you never know... something may pop out at you and you would be (in your head saying Is that Marcos?) while looking at stuff. Keeping Marcos number handy is a good thing if you frequent car shows, and swap meets.. Nothing as quick as a phone call...

KEEP IN MIND... Hot August Nights in Reno NV is coming right up, If you are going, keep your eyes peeled for 32's and parts!

I have Lojack hidden in all of my street rods. Worth the one time payment. I did a search on Google, stolen cars shipped in containers.WOW One site say's that people will make it happen for 2 grand. When I was in Cali, working on a program, We talked about how everybody know's how easy, and in fact it happens all the time! One of the guy's has two friend's that work in long beach, loading containers. He's says with so many containers' it is rather easy to fake paper work.

Thanks all again...well i moved to a new Adress with a secure 3 car Garage and security company Monitoring my House...even added Hardcore Mechanical locks to the Door so it cant be forced open.
Lowjack is also on the List.
Well its been 21 days yesterday and my Insurance wants to Pay me out...which means i wont own the Car anymore but the Insurance will.So if it gets found it will be Auctioned off and im not even aloud to bid on it myself i would have to use a Agent of some sort...But i do not think the Car will ever show again in one Piece in the U.S.
So thanks to some great Support of a Buddy of mine with a Hot rod shop Thunderrod 2 will be started soon...he stops all other Projects to get this done asap....it will safe me lots of time and the possibility to feel much better again.....it will look absolutly the same.....just a little bit better....i have to move on....Thanks all so much for your support...what a great Comunity....im looking forward to Serve cookies out of the trunk of Thunderrod 2 at Paso 08

I guess this is the end of that. If it ever gets auctioned off, I will try to buy it, and "might" sell it back to you for double .
It's good to hear that you are going to have another Thunderrod built.

 

Wow, sorry to see this saga end like this...At least you had the insurance and it's good to hear there will be another soon...


BTW, if anyone is thinking of insuring their car, AAA has got a great "Classic Car" program they started a while back...I was just there this morning...They will insure a car on an "agreed value" (agreed to by you and their underwriters) for any car under 50K and the rate is really low...

Yea I doubt you'll ever see that Rod again. Good luck on the new and improved one. Look on the bright side. I just sold my 56 Belair after 23 years. If I build another 56, it will be much better.

 

What is the latest skinny? Still think it is within 100 miles of its home. It disappeared to quick to be on the road very long.

The latest skinny: Marco (Thunderrod) got his insurance money and is building an identical/improved, 32 roadster with the money.
The stolen car does not belong to him anymore, the insurance company owns it if it will ever be recovered.
Thats it, sad but true.

 

THUNDERROD IS BACK ON THE ROAD !

No the Car was never found but the new Car also named Thunderrod (as it always was so i refuse to name it tr2) is now on the Road thanks to lots of support and Help from Hellbound Hotrods in Lancaster.....It looks similar...very similar....so dont shoot and then ask please.This Car proudly wears the H.A.M.B tag on the Firewall and has a different and a lil lettering on there reading :
Steel not Steal just as lil inside joke.

Glad to see her back on the road. I was reading this cringing..... My garage has more locks and booby-traps on it than there was in half of vietnam...... Call me paranoid, but I am TOO close to DETOILET, oh I mean DETROIT.......... All I have to say is, you can run, but you will only die tired......... Good luck and we'll see you on the road!!
