I recently replaced my Banjo Rear end with a Ford 9" on my 35 Coupe and was needing help setting up the emergency brake. Can anyone tell what E-Brake cable to use? Thanks for the Help!

I got the left and right 66 bronco cables from rock auto and fabricated a block and bracket like lokar uses. IMG_1082.JPG

Lokar universal cut to fit. Only problem, they've gotten really pricey.

I use a pair stock cables on the axle, bracket these to the frame, add another short cable from the lever to the back of the center X-member. This cable may need to go thru a section of tubing of it isn't a straight shot. I use a '40 style clevis and equalizer on the end of this. Once these are on, I measure and have the last cable made at the brake shop.

As others have noted, you can pop for a lokar or wilwood kit and get good parts (at least I always have) or if you’re feeling a little less risk averse, you can check out the chinessium stuff on Amazon. $50-75 gets you off and running (and hopefully staying stopped).:p
    Lots of kits like these:

if you have nothing at all...
IF you have 10'' rear brakes small bearing
buy two of 1970 mustang rear right cables - rock auto cheap.
the internal spring needs to be the correct length for the actuating arm
the rebate or spigot or doofer in the backplate needs to be correct.
the length of the bowden or the outer sheath of a 68 mustang is just right IF you have a leaf spring kit as you can mount the stop for the bowden on the front leaf spring mounting.
the inner cables are longer than a stock 36/37 up cable ford
locate the rear x member brake swivel from a 37 38 - or whatever ch***is and fit to yours
use the oringinal ford female threaded heim
i forget what size thread it is i think its 7/16 unc
make sure you have stainless steel cables, buy two stainless steel bolts
bore them in a lathe and cut the cables to fit into the thread - chop the head off
both swedge or swage them on with some heat, and put a tiny bit of stainless weld if you dare.
use a oriinal ford front handbrake cable
find a 37 - 38 dash mount parking brake lever
you will need to modify it to fit the 35 as the dash is shallower than a 37
this ay the lever is oooooooooot the way
the rear cable will not go through the frame like an original 37 IF you are running an axle of 57.25 inches wide
IF however you run a 59.25 you can
it also depends on how low the car is as the angle of attack from the backplate is in a much different opsition than stock.

you do i think need the articklemalation from the same position of the suspension
or stock a 70 mustang leafspring from axle centre to front mount is 2 foot, the distance of the oputer cable will land it in the same plane

bowden and inner cable lenghth specs#

I am currently using one of these kits as i did not want to pay close to $200 like i did for the last locar kit.
Everything looks great and the parts fit well for what I'm doing.
