I'm hooking up the e-brake in my '39 Ford two door sedan. It's channeled over an S10 Blazer frame. I'm using the S10 cables and a Mustang floor mounted handle. I'm thinking of splicing the original S10 adjuster off the S10 front cable into the Mustang cable so I'll have some adjustment. Also, do I need to use the S10 spring that is on the adjuster? Lokar doesn't use any spring at the front but GM must have had a reason for this. Thanks in advance, Rod

The spring ensures that the rear cable ***emblies retract so you don't smoke rear brake shoes.

it takes up the slack in the cable and makes sure that it "pulls" that last bit over the ratchets so you don't have it ever so slightly engaged...you will realize that about 20 miles later...
    Use it if you can!
