I need pictures of brake cables attaching to the brake handle.
I need ideas on how to tie them all together.

My brake cables MEET in the MIDDLE and my brake HANDLE is OFF SET to the right, attached to the transmission.

    Any suggestions highly appreciated,
    Thanks,
    Mike:confused:

  2. Go to Lokar's web site and find E-brake. Here's a couple of pics to give you an idea. You can move your cables to the right and line them up so they pull evenly, like in the picture.

I used a Pinto eBrake lever and Lokar's cable system minus Lokars clevis . Used a threaded rod to the Twin cable block. Cables then, go to backing plates.

This is the exact shifter that I have MINUS the bracket circled in blue.

Am I understanding this correctly. All I need to do is bring the cables directly to this bracket and it is a done deal??

    Thanks a bunch,
    Mike

I just robbed a E brake handle mechanism from a modern Ford that looked like it would work. $10 at the U Pullit. Got a primary cable for a Jeep Wrangler, and used the stock GM jack cable to the drum.
Works great, and adjusts with a single threaded rod through the handle's mechanism.
Sits on the floor right next to the shifter:

If you have the shifter already the highlighted bracket just bolts to it with 2 x bolts and crush spacers. The cables feed through as per picture and hook up to your rear end. Job done

My cables from the rear end angle to the middle of the car approx. 2 feet away from the EB handle. The worst part is that the outer casing for the cable also ends at this location.
I only have bare wire cable reaching the EB handle.

¿Is there a way to place an outer casing and threaded fastener as shown in the picture of the EB with bracket and handle?

Also, the RH cable is an easy straight shot at the EB handle but the LH cable has to come all the way across. What would be an easy way to route/secure the LH cable over to the right side?

If anyone has a picture of a similar setup..............sure would like to see one.

Thanks a bunch for all the help so far,
    Mike

Here's what worked for me in routing the ebrake cables. Use as many insulated clamps as it takes.

Has anyone ever extended the OUTER CASING on their EB cables??

I know the easy fix would be to purchase the cable kit and run them all the way from the drums to the EB handle.
I want to use the current cables and besides, this is a LOW BUDGET build.
I'm thinking of extending the cable outer shell to the EB handle.

Here are a couple of pictures showing what I have to work with.

Any suggestions will be highly appreciated.

    Thank you in advance,
    Mike
