EMINENT DOMAIN Declared 50 cars have to go in Kansas City

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by wheelbarrowsgarage, Aug 1, 2007.

  1. A cowl in first shot is the same one in photo 13.
Saab in photo 2 is the same as in photos 9 and 11. That Buick could well be hiding a 455.

I see a few non-traditional things that are worth a little money, and the one '59 Chevy is nice, but for the most part it doesn't look much better than the stuff I can find local and pay scrap value, or close to it, for.

I guess if I were a serious buyer I'd really have to question between the guy not taking calls and having more than scrap prices set on the stuff if he doesn't just really want to junk it all. I've dealt with guys like that before and it's a pain in the behind - always pay in person and get a reciept and if you make a deal, pay for it then and there.

    Good luck on it all.

Alright, I saw Steve yesterday in person at the yard. I now have a complete list of what cars are there but do not have details on condition other then what I have seen. If you want the list please pm and I will send it. NO bitching about prices the fact that there are no pictures and that you have to move it yourself!! All I am trying to do is help Steve sell some stuff and save some cars in the meantime!
    Thanks
    Caleb

The red and white SAAB pictured is a '60 or '61 model 93. Can't remember if it is a 93F or 93B. The '57-59s had suicide doors. All had a water cooled 3 cylinder 2 stroke either 750 or 850cc wih 3 on the column.

It's tempting but like most of you I have more projects than I can afford.

I posted a price list (above) finally. Feel free to contact steve. Maybe these are highball prices, I don't know. Maybe you can talk him down.

Once again, these aren't mine. Just passing the info along.

Is there any new news on this, are they all saved or?

  6. by the price list it sounds like another old timer that thinks his scrap is worth all kinds of money.
he should be selling them for 50 bucks a pop and hope people come to pick them up or he is gonna be left with nothing but a huge disposal bill and no money from the sale of his house if hes not careful.
sometimes some one mans trash is everyones trash.

  8. In case you late to the party folks don't notice, this was originally posted up around August 1st - the 30 days are just about up. I'd bet on the side of most of it going to the press, myself.

    Sadly, it did. :(

wheelbarrowsgarage has more info. I called a guy the other night because he has a bedliner machine and I needed some stuff done. After a brief conversation, turned out it was wheelbarrowsgarage! Small world!

I hadn't thought about this thread since forever, and he brought it up. I remembered more info, and posted a link here http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=322932
