we ordered rockers from macs for our 54 2 door hardtop we are building at the shop, i put the inner and outer on the driver side and they seemed to be ok, not perfect but good enough, i go to do the p***. side and the outer rock simply doesnt fit, its almost as if the break from the top of the rocker to the bubble part you can see outside the car is to tight. i fool with it for a few hours and it just doesnt fit no matter how much old **** i cut off the car. so we order a new inner and outer from EMS wondering if maybe they would be differnt a little better perhaps. we get the box the next week and were pretty amused to find the exact same sticker from "MFG" ( the place that makes the rockers) on the EMS panels as on the macs panels. giveing them the benifit of the doubt i figure maybe the first one we got was defective so wel try this one. the new one is doing the exact same thing, just the wrong shape. i ended up opening up with break a little and with a little triming its now in there. was just curious if anyone else has this issue?

The EMS guy is in our group so if you send him a PM I know he would want to know about this issue for sure . Yes EMS products are sold through MACS and many other Ford parts catalogs . I don't have a 54 but have used their products many times on different Fords and never had a problem . I am sure they will take care of you right away with that problem .

i read the sticker wrong, both panels had stickers saying mfg: by EMS. its not big deal we just figured both places were buying rockers from one place. now can see that mac buys from ems, eaither way the rocker took a little m***aging to get to fit but is on the car now.

i will have to take pictures monday when i get back to the shop, its kinda hard to describe, but if u had the rocker in ur hand and hold it up in front of u long ways so u were looking down it kinda like you would hold a rifle. the top flat surface ( the part that you would look down on if it were on the car and u opened the door) the angle of that to the face of the rocker ( the part you would see if it were on the car and the door was closed) is to tight. like the two surfaces are to acute of an angle, i had to open the angle up to get the inner to fit and to have it sit on the car properly.
