In the final stages of fabricating a few EMS panels on my Chevy and we come to the boot scrapers. I ordered new EMS replacements a few yrs back but now I'm stumped..(CRS Syndrome) . The old ones had mounting for rocker panel trim and mounting holes. I'm guessing here that I have to drill out all the spots to mount them to the rocker. I've not gotten out the trim but look like i have to come up with a way to attach the trim too.

Anyone use that replacement panel here? I'm thinking I should have welded them to the rockers before we got them on the car. :(

I can't see how the old trim mounts will work w/o cutting up the new panels.

    Any ideas? Thanks.

    try this:

    1) we designed the panel to be welded to the rocker, this eliminates a lot of problems on the inside of the rocker and holes for water to get inside. keeps prodcution cost down to.

    2) many guys do not reuse the chrome strip. this styling function comes and goes depending on what guys want to do.

    3) if you do want to use the chrome strip the factory clip can be used, just drill, screw and tack if you need the square opening drill 1/8 hole at each corner and use thin cutting disc or file to square shape.

Thanks :) I'm going to bring it to the shop today. Panel adhesive interesting. We replaced the full rocker on the drivers side and only partial on the passenger side. This is great tip I can save some time. I sure didn't want to fiddle with the old rusted out ones. I did notice we have to clean up the sloppy old body welds in that area to make it nice and neat.

I will bring my camera bward 76.

we are not fans of using panel adhesive to replace mig welding, except maybe on door skins patches. but for clips and non structual brackets it is a good solution

We looked it over today and think we came up with how to get it attached w/o adhesives. One of the shop guys has a tool to put in attachment bolts. It looks like I might have to invest in the rubber trim which was rotted away to keep noise down. There will be some grinding on the body welds to clean them up to make a nice presentation.

I might still give you a call. I'm taking pictures of our idea.
