engin block numbers

I just picked up a 42 chevy pickup and I am tring to ***le it and the only number I can find are the engine numbers, the numbers on the block behind the dist. are CON4 B281 does that sound right, the other number is 3769716, and on the head the number is B5684685D, it is a 6 cly any help would be great Thanks Jim

 

Look for some small numbers stamped on the machined pad right at the base of the distributor.

But the block casting date code is B 28 1 and the engine block casting number is 3769716 which is a 58 to 62 engine, so it looks like it's a Feb 28 1961 cast block, and it's a 235.
