engine and tranny mount

    does anyone know the distance from the center of the motor mount to the transmission mount holes on a 350 chevy with a 350 turbo shortshaft i have my motor mounts on the frame but i dont have a tranny yet and i want to locate the tranny crossmember.

    I dont have the measurement for you but I would wait until I had the parts before I jumped in.

    yeah, hold off on locating the crossmember until you have the engine/trans. or maybe a buddy has an old block and trans case you could borrow.

    With the trans in place you can get a much better view of how things fit and align. The distance between the mounts is just one of several very important positioning factors you need to consider.

    Oddly enough...with the trans in place its the only one thats a no brainer!!! :)

    I am with everyone else, Have the body and firewall and all components in place before installing mounts. I just went thru a lot of hassle becouse someone "did me a favor"when I was not there and welded my mounts in inproperly. They should of been bolted in place not welded.
