engine bearings whats your choice

    im gonna try to put a set of mains and rods in my ol wore out 289 to try and milk a few more miles out of it it developed a knock it still has good oil psi and i cant find any metal in the oil so if the crank dont look to bad im gonna try to patch it . im trying to decide what to use i know a few years ago the clevite p series bearings had some proublms with the babbit coming off ive used the h series before on my race engines whith no proublms ive also used speed pro in the past and kinda leaning towards them . has any one used napa brand bearings who makes em for them i deal with a napa store alot through work so they cut me a good deal on stuff for my old hot rods im trying to save a few bucks if this dont work so any advise

    bearing choice for a mill that already has a knock?

    cheapest you can find.

    pull the caps off, see what the bearing looks like NOW.

    thats what its going to look like soon after you fire it up with new bearings
