engine i.d. needed

    Just picked up my first v8 flathead, I can't find the casting numbers in any book, hope you guys can help. It has f794 on bell and a H at the top of bell, any ideas?? thanks

    Pictures will help they dont use casting numbers to ID like a Chevy does

    if it doesnt have a big "59" on the bell its a prewar block. if it doesnt have a bell that covers the flywheel and pressure plate its a 8ba type(also it will have heads with water necks on the front and a front side mount dizzy) the distributor type will tell you what year it is better, and the head bolt count.
