I am building a 1930 Model A pickup streetrod. I will be using a Chevy 350/TH350. I have motor mounts made by Chassis Engineering. They recommend welding them 1/2 inch down from the top of frame in the front and 5/8" down from the top of the frame on the rear. This gives the engine a floor clearance of about three inches difference from the front of engine to rear of engine (quite a rake). Does this sound correct?

This gives a slight rake to rear of engine which is okay put a level on carb base and check should be level if car is on rake

  3. Larry, do you have a junk block and empty******* to help you with this? We use the CE mounts on all our cars at teh shop, they work well though I would not weld anything in without a dummy motor and*******. I would weld them where they fit best for YOUR truck!

Also, think of exhaust/steering interference at this step. We keep a dummy header just like we sell or order the propor ones at this time to be safe.

And just TACK them in good, leave the final weld til you are SURE of all the fit issues!!!!!

I do you have a junk block and empty******* ... just looks like a big rake. The frame is stock with wishbones. I will be using Vega cross-steering.
