It's not Halloween, but I just had to share a no good, very bad engine shop experience... with Video! EDIT: while the vehicles aren't quite H.A.M.B. standard-age, the point is to be cautious who we work with when outsourcing work - especially on older vehicles, where it becomes paramount. After my dad lost property here in Phoenix, he picked a local Arizona engine rebuilder and had a couple vehicles towed there to have engines rebuilt and/or replaced. He did so without researching or looking at reviews... D'oh!!! Now, we're no superstars, and make plenty of our own mistakes. Heck, maybe we did in this video! Hah! But, these supposed "master" engine rebuilders did ... well ... a horrible job, and it took them half a year to manage what my dad and I have in a couple weekends. After they ****oned it up and we got the vehicles back...we YouTube'd this mess. The video is long at 20+ minutes, but it definitely shows how bad things can be if one makes a bad choice in engine/machine shop... and... this is an example of why we should all just learn how to do it all ourselves. The older the vehicle, the more likely we should (and will have to) do all the work ourselves. Oh, they're definitely off topic here. But the thing about checking the reputation of any shop you plan to have work on your stuff, is on topic. See if you can figure out how to bring home that point, without mentioning things that make the whole post off topic. it's tricky. But you're new here, too.

Not to bang on this post. It's a good post. In September, I posted a video of the Crusin' Reunion 2018, in Ontario, Ca. The video had traditional builds and non traditional builds cruising and parked. Guess what? Someone complained about the video having the non traditional muscle cars in it and it was taken down. My point is how can anyone post something for informational/educational purposes without someone having a bad day or targeting someone because someone doesn't want to enjoy it?
I have had posts and pictures removed for being off topic. I understand the point of keeping the forum pre 65. I just barely made it with my ride! Lol But.... if you have a good message and while delivering it a ot car drives through your video, maybe people should just ignore it. I know yours has a little more than that, but your message was about engine rebuilder that you could apply to any car. Good advise with video facts to back it up. Maybe it will make it! Bones
Hambers in oregon, car quest in junction city are a great machine shop. they dont pull or install engines but they do rebuild em in a couple months, they KNOW WHAT THEYRE DOING. like international engines? flatheads? FORD, andy down there is a ford fanatic, he knows how to make power. gary has achieved some crazy hp out of mopar stuff. nice old school machine shop who charges fair rates!
