Technical Engine Skeleton.........pretty slick

I saw this the other day on Facebook Marketplace. Impressed me........Thought some others might enjoy it and want to make one of their own. (It wasn't for sale)

Now that is cool, and me being a SBC guy that's right in my wheelhouse.
I'm sure some high roller would buy that for his "mancave", me I would put it front and center in my living room.
At least until my wife saw it!

 

Visible V8. I'm an SBC guy too. That is really cool. There is a lot more work in that than first appears.

I did a compression test - it failed!

 

Yeh, the guy at least could have used some old L79 pistons!

 

no freeze plugs. it's going to have a big leak.

 

All it needs is some spark plugs hung by the wires.

 

So - - - something fun from the pandemic

 

That was way more work than putting together a running SBC!

 

A set of clear valve covers wouldn't be out of place IMHO.

 

Ran fine when pulled.

so what's supporting the cam?

 

Air cooled .

 

If you focus in you will see welding in the push tods to the lifters; so I’m guessing a few key welds from lifters to the cam suspending it.
