Engine stand modification idea...

    nothin ground breaking here but i noticed this modification my buddy Dan made to his engine stand that makes it roll around like a dream!
    he came across a couple 8" casters at the junk yard and then bought the single swivel caster at the local Tractor Supply.
    you would not believe what a difference this makes, especially if you have an older garage floor that is'nt all that even, smooth or has large cracks. this will glide right over them smooth as ****er baby!! :D

    good idea ,but wont that throw your balance and be more apt to tip over?just a crack in the floor makes mine seem like it could without the swivel.

    Buy another wheel and put a crossmember out front. I had a threewheel stand tip over, once was more than enough!
     
  4. Ya I agree if your going that far you might as well make it a 4 wheel stand. They are a lot safer!!

    As with anything that has to be rolled around, the larger diameter wheel the better.

    Wheels are great, until you start torquing bolts.
    Been there, done that.
