Engine Swap

I am building a 46 Fleetmaster 2door and was thinking of pulling out the original 216 and 3 speed. I would like the simplest combo engine/tranny possible. I dont need any crazy high performance but would like something automatic and easy to find parts. What does everybody recommend if possible post prices of engine tranny combo or what you think it may cost. New/used doesnt matter, what type of car could it would be pulled out of. Or if anyone knows a place in miami that can take the car remove the engine/tranny and put in a new/used more modern one. Like i said nothing fancy but maybe something i can dress up nice.

i would have to agree, 350/350 combo is the most common and easiest to get parts for.

 

I'd just do a 235 and keep the 3 speed. Or if you HAVE to have an auto, they make it possible to to put TH350's behind it....slim
