Hell I'm subscribing just to find out what stuck it! Never heard of using water though. Thats one reason I like the HAMB, you never know what you'll learn.

i think 2 cylinders were at tdc and the intake valves were opening and moisture drifted down and into the cylinders , the lifter gallery is still oily and the exhaust ports dont have rust or a lot of carbon in them ,the intake p***age under the carb was clean , i read an earlier post were the transmission pump seal had locked up the drivetrane , the crusty old automatic is still bolted on to the engine , im going to remove the transmission and see what happens , id be some happy if it turned over

Water is great in small amounts for cleaning out the cylinders (while running),but I've never heard of waterlogging a motor to unstick it.There's probably a direct correlation between this little factoid and all of the Project Cars(major peeve) that end up in the cl***ifieds.

water will work to loosen rust. i've thrown many rusted upper links and turn buckles in the stock tank for a week or so to free up. haven't used it on a cylinder.

If you have ever used it, you would know its true! I had a 51 Ford and I was pulling the motor. The bolts were rusted on so tight I broke a breaker bar trying to get it off. I sprayed it with JB80, let it sit 5 minutes and it came right off. Only other lube that I know is that good is astroglide....

undid the bolts and the transmission and the bellhousing pulled right off , engine still didnt budge , going to take off the torque convertor and try a bar on it , if that doesnt work i will take it apart ,
