who in Houston area is reputable engine building for street cars? Dyno tested engines for sale? 347 strokers?
Got a 86 stock 302 in it now, bored 40 over, alum intake, 670 Holley vacuum secondaries, iron 86 heads, runs good just not much punch.
"stock" = try a cam change before building an entire engine. Heck, if its a SBF there are TONS of crate motors available ready to go.
Call any popular cam company (ie COMP cams) let them know what you have and what you are planning? That will make a big improvement then invest in heads? My truck has a .40 over 302 with edelbrock intake, stock mustang heads with roller rockers. It motivates my truck very quick with 3.50 gears and posi in the rear. I barely get traction up to 4th gear, a T bucket is even lighter than what I have. Good luck BTW my next improvement for mine will be AFR 185cc street heads.
