It's just me-in Tennessee.Glad to find a board friendly to over the hill hot rodder and working with the engines and things I loved to explore before so many responsibilities developed.Retired 4 1/2 years ago from a chemical plant after 29 years as supvr in maint of plant and plant's motorized equipment, some duty as mechanical trainer.Went back as a contract person 3 1/2 years ago to help straighten out some records--no telling for how long but it pays the rent on my shop and buys some toys-just not getting any of my projects done.since age 12 been a damn enginenut.Worked on lawn mowers-hung out at local shops in town of 1000-then paper route, motor bikes ,scooters,& cycles until my peers could get cars which I wrenched on regularly.Hooked on engine swaps in jalopys by 19 and never recovered.Spent all on drag cars until military at 23 then went to work in industry and still carried on w/cars in my off time.Did I mention hooked on cycles too?20 years supervision or wrenching in the plant(s) motorized equipment shops helped me learn to enjoy the challenges of engine work.own my own boring bar(3) and valve equipment--don't have my bridgeport or old crank grinder in service but maybe when I retire again.Have always been intrigued by odd and old engines and have a pretty large library of manuals & reference material that I enjoy and enjoy sharing the info.I believe love of cars and their modification is one of the greatest incentives for people young and old to develop mechanical skills because as we have the need or interest we will seek answers and there is no way to put a price on the value added to everyday life. This is a mechanical world we live in and there are too many out there that couldn't change a light bulb without getting the polarity wrong. Thanks for "being there" and I look forward to learning and sharing with you.
