This is my dad building my 8BA... that I inherited. It's going in his '50 Ford Tudor, original 54,000 mile untouched (except for the engine) car. We couldn't find the proper Ford color, but this Oldsmobile color was close enough. The engine is going back in this spring/summer. Still have to have the water pumps rebuilt, have Bubba rebuild my SBC Mallory DP, get some carbs and linkage together.
Haha, thanks Death Proof. But the K&N is to small for the 390 engine so now I run a "ugly el cheapo chrome fullsize filter" I hope to get my hands on a caddy/olds bat-wing filterhousing....
Nice clean mill, Be careful with that air cleaner, I had one of those on a drag boat years ago and it caught fire after a back fire thru the carb. Thank God I was surrounded with lake water to put it out quickly.
This is my test piece idk if its what i want to go with, I dislike making decisions on my own stuff........
Great thread subscribing. How does one paint a block, some sort of primer and then the paint? Any how-to's?
Nice to see that this thread is enjoyed by many! For my FE i used the VHT primer and then the VHT gold rattle can. At the exhaust ports the paint started peeling during the break-in ... The rest of the engine is still very nice
Here are 2 mopars but even my hemi doesn't beat that nailhead! Beautiful! p.s. the hemi is done with Aervoe engine enamel and the Plymouth was Plasticote. I've had very good results with both
Today's effort with vht gold metalflake out of the can on my 66 383. I think I will add the clear from them as well. With new intake and carb sitting in position. A $21 makeover.
No matter how many times I see this engine, I never get tired of it...the Ford wrapped around it is pretty damn sweet too!
Here is the 235 my brother helped me build and dress up for my Chevy. All the dress up and speed parts are old stuff that came with the car in the trunk Here it is in the car:
