I know this has come up before, but when it did I was not ready to buy one. Who has the best deal on a full size kit? ( not a table top one ). Cost, quality, delevery time, etc... Any other tips?
First you need one of my shot bags . I have looked on Egay, but if you go to www.metalshapers.com they have a lot of info on wheels and some realy cool home made tools...Danny
CNC Solutions is a Metalshapers member and offers one of the better deals on the 'Bay. They have 8" and 9" wheels.
i can attest for cnc solutions stuff.. I used their "big green machine" at metal meet this past fall.. they're wheels just arent in my budget right now... but they should be.. good luck sawzall
CNC Solutions is no longer in business. You can look here:< http://groups.yahoo.com/group/metalshapers/ > then look in the "links" section for several suppliers of English Wheels, parts, and kits. Check out Ron Covell,Ron Fournier,Creative Billet,Trident Tool,RatD,among others. Also factor the cost of shipping into the final cost.
Try www.englishwheels.net these guys are located here in Central Illinois. Sell a very good product from what I hear and the owner seems to be a real stand up kind of guy. Never used one myself so I can't speak about them personally. Bill
[ QUOTE ] CNC Solutions is no longer in business. [/ QUOTE ] What happened? They shipped my wheels this last fall, right after Metal Meet.
To make a long story short, the Bank pulled the plug. Last time I heard, one of the guys was planning on starting up again with a different name.
Dondanno, I do need one of your shotbags. I have hammered the seams out of the one that I have right now. Let me know where to send the check. Thanks for the info and links guys. I started using my name long before I knew Metalshapers existed, but now I feel a little weird about showing my face there. I'll just sign up there under a different name I guess...
You can go here:< http://allshops.org/cgi-bin/community/communityalbumdirectory.cgi > And enter "wheel" in the search box to find several alblums related to English Wheels, their design, construction, and their use. Also read this essay by Ron Covell about frame stiffness for English Wheels:< http://metalshapers.org/tips/covell/ewheels.htm >
