Personally, a piece of overrated shit, and every one running them is only jumping on the band wagon like sheep led out to pasture.
    my 2cents worth.

  2. It's the scale that I don't like and polishing them only magnifies it's "out of scaleness." The lenses are too small for the body and usually for the car itself. I think they look better on long hooded cars, so I think they will look ok on the Legion Special. Especially if the body is painted.
That being said, I think they are the "iron cross" of the wealthy hot rod set.

I don't see the big hoopla in them either. They're the "flavor of the month" now thats all.
But i think that you didn't see them in the 50's or anything is because no one wanted to give the police something to stop them for & changing your headlights would definetily be a reason to get stopped.I think Blue dots where the same way.
I remember seeing a picture of a cop measuring headlite height & pushing a roadster to make sure the e-brake held up.
But i have to admit those big giant oldtime headlights look just as out of place on cars.

Yep, fun is what it's all about. That's what my post was about too. I poke fun at a lot of stuff, but more at myself than anything else (see my sig line).
And my deal is Gassers and Harleys. Has been since the 60's, still is. If I were against trends, I'd sell everything I have and do something else.
Just do what makes you smile, don't take things so seriously!
I'm still not gonna put E&J's on anything I own though. WAIT A MINUTE, I wonder what one would look like on the Panhead?
    Merry Christmas!!

Where did you get this set of E&Js? We sold two sets at the fleamarket at Englishtown in the seventies.

  6. As to wether E & J headlights are cool or not cool, it all depends on the theme of the build.

    One question i have is>
Do these lights actually throw any light at night? The small & thick lense with a conventional bulb to me looks like it would shine about the same as a Mag Light?
But i guess it's style or function in this case?
