Thanks so much guys, it was an AWESOME trip!! Had a blast running with the rolling bones boys and lending a hand on the 532 car. Will definitely be back next year, hopefully making the trip in an open car. Aside from some minor adjustments, the car ran GREAT. I did add a leaf to the rear spring pack and a pair of gas charged shocks, with two guys and all of our gear it was bottoming out pretty good on some of the bridges on I80. Also stopped to tighten up a hose clamp in IA...

Next, Andy will take an International headlight bucket and turn it into a '27 T roadster body.. Before your eyes.. In 5 and a half months.

For any nay-sayers, please start at page one of this thread and go through it.

The running joke for the last few weeks was that once I got back to NY I was gonna cut the coupe back apart and turn it back into a 4dr. Truth be told, the plan is to just tidy up a few loose ends with the interior metalwork, chop and fit the garnish moldings and fit side and rear glass, blow the QC apart and add a TT seal (as it does chuck oil up the TT as it sits), and get it ready to sell or trade for a kickass roadster project and fund my new shop...

Thanks again dudes, great to meet all the new faces and catch up with old pals along the way... mooch-ass-grassy-ass! See you in Detroit!

thunderbird.... I must be slipping. I did NOT realize this was your car, I walked all around your car at Denny Saum's in Nebraska and didnt realize it was yours. I was chattin with the guys saying "there is a cool 5w on the hamb made from a 4dr sedan". Glad to have gotten to see it in person. I was next to Denny when you were asking about a model a rear spring. Glad to see you had a great trip, and next year I will introduce my self. Here are some shots from Denny's BBQ.

Hi Andy, I'm a newbie here, just by chance the first thread that got my attention was yours! I read it from start to finish over about a week!

    Man!! RESPECT:cool::cool:!!!

There's always plenty of I'm gonnas out there, and I understand stuff gets in the way, you suffer setbacks that knock the wind from your sails etc, but you just kept on!
    The results speak for themselves.
Thats one of the best proportioned most kickass 5w's I've seen, and all from what alot of guys would have scrapped!
It's great to see you out enjoying the fruits of your labour, and i wish you all the best with your new venture!
Keep up the inspiring work! There should be more guys like you out there!

    Cheers, Scotty.

The man says he misses his roadster. I guess he's serious. Give a couple months to throw together another cool car. Thanksgiving to spring build time again?

  21. Andy,
Just wanted to say it was a blast running away with you and the bones boys to the salt. Can't wait until next year to do it agin. What are your plans for the new roadster? Keep in touch. Denny

    Hah! thanks Mat!

Welp, ....I still own it so I guess I'll get it ready to go to the Race of Gentlemen in Jersey in a couple weeks.

I made a little diamond shaped pushbar for the back, and a small, similarly designed nerf bar for the front... something I've been wanting to do for a while now and have just been too busy driving it to get to... somehow I forgot to take pics, I'll put some up tomorrow.

Better get some glass in it so I don't freeze my bollocks off in case the weather turns. In addition to chopping up the garnish to fit these mail slots, I also blew apart the window regulators and replaced the broken drive gears and got them operating freely, etc...

These 4dr quarter window garnishes are different than the coupe ones, but I'm going to make them work and they'll match the door garnish too.

Take 4" out of the length, about 6" in height, and adjust the curve to match...

The rear window is going to take some work... the bottom of the flange will need to be replaced and there's a slight kink in the center. I think I'll tackle that tomorrow.
